Flu Shots

I usually go for a flu shot every year. I should be scheduled for surgery very soon. Should I have a flu shoot?
Will this cause complications? I do not think so, but just in case I would like to know!

I'd go ahead and get the shot, especially since you're not scheduled yet. You could ask the DR/pharmacist (depending on where you get your shot) giving you the shot if there is any reason you should not have the shot if you have surgery coming up soon, just to be sure.

If it's more than a couple of weeks before your surgery, then getting the shot now could provide you with resistance to flu viruses that may be floating around the hospital (visitors, for example, can carry lots of things!) while you're there. Just don't get the flu vaccine now if you are ill, that's not recommended.
