Question about Jeans

Okay, this is going to sound really stupid! I have pretty much lived in Jeans since my surgery. Mainly because I am so excited about the skinny jeans that are back in style. I haven't liked jeans for years. I'm a child of the 80's. So I bought a bunch of new Jeans a week after surgery (two sizes smaller!) Here's my question:
It seems like every thread that I read, there are comments about people being uncomfortable in their jeans. Is this an incision thing? Is it because I wear lowriders? It just has me wondering every time I see it.

Question about Jeans

Elphie my jeans are definitely looser than pre-surg and I am sure will eventually feel great again. Right now though my bottom and va-gi-gi are too sore still to have a stiffer fabric like that pressing against that area. My abdominal area is fine as I had laparascopy there and there is blessedly no tenderness at this point. I wiggled them down as far as I could but it just wasn't a good thing yet! lol

Question about Jeans

I also have tiny LAVH incisions, but jeans are just too unforgiving when I sit down. They cut into my tummy and that is just too much... and my jeans have spandex (which, IMHO is the best thing invented since velcro tennis shoes for little ones!).

Question about Jeans

Elphie,

I was wearing jeans about 3 weeks post surgery. Not always comfortable - but no pain either. I also did not have much pain and swelling in the va-gi-gi except for few days after surgery.

I wore jean on a long (2-1/2 hr.) car ride Saturday and had wished I had put on khakis.

Question about Jeans

I have a vertical incision so the fabric around the button and the fly rub against my stomach and irritate it. Another part of my issue is that I have had super skin sensitivity since my surgery. Even some t-shirts that I've worn for years aren't soft enough some days.

Question about Jeans

I tried on my jeans several days after surgery at my moms prompting. I was like 'No way could they be ok' and her thought was 'only one way to know.'

That first week, after several hours they were uncomfortable. 2 weeks post-op though they were fine. I have a pair that is a little lower on the waist and stretchy, the last couple weeks I found them more comfortable and actually a bit supportive.

I do want to add, I came home having lost weight around the middle, even with the original post-op swelling, I was smaller. Also I didn't have any other 'repairs' that would have caused other region discomfort in jeans. Even my incision is so low, my jeans don't really rub.

Question about Jeans

I had a TAH and my button and zipper area are at my incision site and like you songinthedark, my abdominal skin is extremely sensitive as well. I still wear the granny panties plus a wife beater so that it does not get too irritated. I am hoping this goes away soon!!

Question about Jeans

I had a TVH. I was able to get into them no problem. However, they did remind me that my insides are still a bit bruised from the clamps they use during surgery. This surprised me because I only felt brusied the first week lol. ~Anju

Question about Jeans

I had to switch to elastic waist bottoms many years ago when my middle got too big for buttons and zippers. That includes "jeans" if you can call them that! Anyway, for me right now the elastics, even too big now in the hips, are still more comfortable in the waist. My vertical incision extends around and above my belly button, which is why things on my waist are still uncomfortable. The jeans I had from the pre-elastic days fit great now... but I still can't wear them comfortably for very long. That's my story!!
