Hot/Cold Flashes, Dizziness...5d Post op.

Bobbi, My temp is as low as you, even when I was in the castle. Noboby seem to be suprised by it. So I guess it can be normal.

I'm also having the dizziness that started this morning. I.m always cold in the day time and have night sweats once I've been sleeping for a few hours. It drives me crazy, but I would rather have this then what was happening before.

I go for my 2 week check-up tomorrow and I'm going to ask my DR about my temp... actually I have quite a few ??'s on my list for her. I'll let you all know what she has to say. She's always very informative, that's what I like about her! I was out last evening walking cattle. DH and I moved them from pasture to pasture since our ponds are drying up... we sure could use some good rain out here in Kansas if anybody has any to spare. I continue to remind God daily, but He already knows what's going on, so, I'll just wait. We'll be fine. I centainly get my walking in daily out here on the ranch!

I pray that you all are doing well....God Bless!

Hot/Cold Flashes, Dizziness...5d Post op.

I officially completed the menopause transition a couple of weeks before surgery. The last year was peri-menopausal hell... hot flashes & night sweats always followed by chills, heart palpitations, anxiety attacks, crazy mood swings, feeling light-headed, dizzy and ready to pass out. I've had all the textbook symptoms of hormones gone wild!

As someone already said, at times it feels as if you might have the flu. I decided to wait until after surgery to investigate hormone therapy. For about a week I think the surgery scared all of my goofy symptoms away. I'm 2 weeks post-op and just having minimal hot flashes right now. We'll see what develops between now and my 4-week doctor visit. Otherwise, I feel better than I have in many many years!

Hang in There Ladies!!

Hot/Cold Flashes, Dizziness...5d Post op.

I am so glad to know I am not alone. Today's dizziness is making me mad. I have had dizziness before due to migraines, but this is awful.

I am also feeling like I am a slug. Donna is out shopping at 5 days and Bobbi is moving the cattle at two weeks. I will be two weeks tomorrow and I cannot walk upstairs for a shower without spotting and feeling like all is falling out. As for walking outside, I have made it to the mailbox and back a couple of times. My body is not being good to me. To think, a few months ago I was walking 5 very hilly miles at a time.

By the way, Bobbi--I grew up a Flint Hills girl. Stafford, Virginia is beautiful, but there is no beauty like the Flint Hills. From what my parents are telling me, the heat you have been enduring this summer is horrid. Hang in there. Prayers for rain are coming your way.

Small world. I'm in Aquia Harbour. I am just amazed that you are doing so much already. I ventured out for the first time tonight--dinner at Carlos' for a birthday. I am now aching and exhausted, but cannot sleep. Feeling sick from the food is not helping matters. Live and learn. Take care. Denise

Yes, it is a a small world...I lived in the Harbour (3rd section) for over 10 years...moved out 2 years ago. We bought a few acres off of 610 (smith lake) and ended up building.

What type of hysterectomy did you have? I had a LAVH. They did leave my ovaries. My doctor said that I should feel better around 2 weeks and she was right - I did not believe her at first. I am still very tired and get "cramypy" if I do too much...like yesterday. I spent all afternoon running around with 4 (of the 5) kids for school supplies. I still get the night sweats and hot flashes too. Not sure what is going on there.

I hope you feel better soon. It does take time.

I go back to work in 3 weeks and I am NOT looking forward to it....

We are in the 2nd section. We moved here from the Chicago area 3 years ago. I know your area well--the kids play soccer at Smith Lake Park. You must hate the traffic we cause.

I had a LAVH, removal of tubes and ovaries as well as A & P repair. My two biggest sites of pain are from the repairs and in the area where my left ovary was. It had caused me pain for a couple of years, I guess it is just "haunting" me.

My surgery was at Potomac. You?

As I said before, I am just amazed at what all you are doing. I crash from doing minimal things. I have to drive to MCV/VCU with one of the kids next week--I am not sure how I am going to do it.
