Burden to others

I will have this hysterectomy soon and starting feeling like I dont want to be a burden to my family, husband and 2 kids after the surgery, I kinda already feel a burden cause I have allow these painful bothersome fibt's roids take over my life, it's like I am tired alot, frustrated, moody, and all I think about is this HYSTERECTOMY!! My husband seems to ignore what I say when I do talk about it, but it helps me when I talk about it, I don't think he understands, but I do know my sex drive is dead, he says he understands but I dont think he does. Should I cancel the surgery if I feel a like a i am a burden and still will be a burden to my family. Maybe it's all in my mind. I really dont know what to do anymore. I like this website cause whenever I have concerns the ladies are there.

Re: Burden to others

Do not cancel our surgery. You are in pre-surgery jiutters. It sounds like you have to have the surgery. Focus on the fact that once you have the operation you won't have the fibroids anymore and you can focus on healing and getting things back to normal. If you don't have the surgery where will you be...still thinking you are a burden. Remember for a while after the surgery you'll still be frustrated and moody on all those things but stay focused that you will get better. I think whatever the reason we all think we should cancel our surgeries.

Re: Burden to others

I agree. I felt like canceling, too, but it would just prolong the inevitable. We all have a time when we must rely on others. Haven't you provided support in the past to the people you will be needing help from after surgery?
Hang in there!

Re: Burden to others

Please hang in there, after you have healed from your sugery you will start to feel 100%. Sounds like you need to start to focus on yourself and others will as well. Stay strong it will all turn out all right for you in the end. Good Luck

Re: Burden to others

Big Hug lady2009 I am also feeling anxiety about the surgery but cannot wait for the other side it is like a good dream after so much hard work, no periods, no cramps, no forgetting pads, no bleeding on _____(you name it), no losing energy, no checking every time I go to the bathroom, no stressing every day it feels like today is the day it will start and still nothing, no gaining weight every month, no swollen belly, ....... I could go on..

Re: Burden to others

Oh sweety, I have been feeling the same way, but we need to remember that this surgery WILL make us less of a burden. I know it doesn't feel that way right now, but it is true. My friends keep telling me that in the end, I will feel even better after the surgery, then all the pain that I have just gotten to accept as everyday life. Yes, the recovery will be a "b", but it will be worth it in the end. Write anytime. My surgery is June 3rd. Kris
