Re: Tailbone pain

The doctor says it is really not the tailbone. She was going to go the chiropractor route until she did the exam and found the mystery sore spot. There is something else going on. I should not have felt pain in that certain area.

It got better after the exam so either something was pushed back into place or the anti-inflammatory worked. But now it is bad again.

My tummy is so tender that I can't bear the though of laying on it and having the chiropractor adjusting my back.

I think after the colonoscopy I may ask for the anti-inflammatory again and on my next good day call and get in for an adjustment. I will talk to the chiropractor ahead of time to give them a heads up that I am trying to work around the pain. I am sure they will be flexible with me. They are very kind.

Re: Tailbone pain

The good thing is if your tailbone needs adjusted you don't have to lay on your tummy, its done on your side. Good luck. The tailbone sucks when it hurts.

Re: Tailbone pain

That is the best news! I can handle laying on the side! Thank you!

Only hurts when I am trying to stand up from the office chair and sometimes other harder chairs.

Although bothersome and waking up to pelvic pain, I would much rather deal with this than migraines, dental pain, flu like symptoms, ear aches, ect.

I will keep you informed.....

Re: Tailbone pain

I went to the chiropractor yesterday. He explained that whenever there is a cut and/or removal of organs, the nerves going to to cut skin and into the organ need to learn how to reroute to help heal the cut and teach the muscles how to work with the missing organ. He gave me a very simple exercise to do to help teach the nerves and muscles to adjust to this new body.

Interesting he told me that a study was done because tons of people were developing back pain after having their belly button pierced. Even that small "cut" threw off the nerves and muscles.

He adjusted the bed so the treatment was not hard on tender tummy. I felt so much better last night and look forward to Monday' appointment. He is also helping my left shoulder. The top of it is sore. He said my upper back and neck had some issues.

The MRI, CT scan, and colonoscopy all came back negative for anything that could be causing inability to stand from the office chair. The chiropractor's explanation made sense. He asked where the pain was when trying to stand. I told him there really was no pain, I just couldn't stand.

Re: Tailbone pain

Cindyloohoo68, I have such a horrid memory when it comes to time. I am glad you posted because the doc has put me back on the same anti-inflammatory listed above and although I knew I was on it not too long ago I could not remember why.

OK, let's see if I can figure this out. I had my surgery June 14th. The pain started 5 weeks later when I returned to work. I have improved so much since that chiropractor appointment the end of November. I would say about 5 - 5 1/2 months? I still am trying to stand up the way the chiropractor advised. Once in awhile if I sit too long there is some pain but that is very seldom.

The pain was also more so in shifting from sitting to standing, not a constant.
