Is this common?

I'm new to this site and I have a problem!

Had a full hysterectomy in 2009---had sex for the first time this past weekend and had bleeding! I guess I wasn't as lubricated as I thought... Vaginal dryness? Whatever... I am worried...made an appointment to see my gyn ....Is this common?

I'm sorry that you experienced bleeding after intercourse--that would be scary this far post-op. Making an appointment with your doctor was the right thing to do. Please let us know what the doctor has to say.

There could be any number of causes for it, including vaginal dryness and/or vaginal atrophy. Try not to worry (easier said than done!) and have a look at this article that may help: Vaginal Dryness.
