Sacrocopopexy... Healing... Need Reassurance!

Hi All! I had a DaVinci hysterectomy with sacrocopopexy on October 25. I find it extremely difficult to sit without pain and I'm just scared that my cystocele repair didn't work or something - I still feel pressure when I'm standing. I have today been having BM problems. For 9 days I've been constipated - taking Miralax - and now it's like I've had diarrhea all day and I'm just feeling wiped out. My intestines are constantly rumbling. I think I'm having a recurrence of my severe IBS. Maybe it was triggered by the Miralax? Anesthesia?

I'm wondering if anyone out there is ahead of me in healing a sacrocopopexy surgery and could just explain the healing process a bit to me.

Re: Sacrocopopexy... Healing... Need Reassurance!

Hi sunshine14! Just checking in to see if things have improved for you in the last few days - I noticed on one of your other threads that you have taken some probiotics and it has helped with your digestion and IBS. That is great news!

You have likely seen this description of your surgery, but just in case you haven't....it talks specifically about the da Vinci sacrocolpopexy procedure.

Please have lots of patience with yourself and remember that you did have alot of work done internally. Regardless of the surgical procedure, alot of internal healing must happen, and it will happen on YOUR body's schedule.

Take care and be kind to yourself! I hope you will hear from more women who can offer perspective based on their similar procedures.
