Day 15 post op. Vomitting & possible infection

Hi there, today is 15 days post op. I have vomited a few times today, pain is back and needed to take a pill for the first time in 6 days. The vomitting obviously made the pain worse. Yesterday was my 2 week post op and cultures were taken because it look like infection at the cuff. Tomorrow I should get results of that. I have pain right above my belly button, have any of you had these symptoms and an infection? Is it all linked?

Re: Day 15 post op. Vomitting & possible infection

I had an infection in my incision 3 days after my surgery. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks because after they removed the staples, drained the infection, and put in a wound vacuum I ended up with blood clots in my lungs and pneumonia. I still have sudden shooting pains in my vagina and always above my belly button. I still have an open wound in my abdomen though. The doctors also had to separate my bladder, bowels, and stomach lining from my uterus because they had all grown together because of scar tissue. I have had many obstacles so I'm not sure what is normal but ask your doctor if you think anything is wrong. I hope you feel better soon :-)

Re: Day 15 post op. Vomitting & possible infection

Whatever it is, if you are this early post-op, there is possibility of infection, and you are having increasing pain, you need to call your doctor. Don't wait. They can give you something for the nausea and they may want to see you right away. It might just be the flu. However, it's always best to be cautious. (((hugs)))
