Pads?

How much do new princesses bleed? I have almost a whole new bag of pads under my bathroom sink...will this be enough or do I need more? If I have to buy more, it'll be the last bag I buy till my daughter starts having periods!!!

Pads?

Once I got home from the hospital, I didn't do any bleeding. The only pads I used were to absorb the little bit of drainage I had from my incision. And after week 2 I didn't even need those anymore. I wouldn't buy more unless it looks like you
really are going to need them.

Hi Leigh,

Some new princess have spotting or discharge (it should never be heavy or bright red) for several weeks, up to a month. Some, like me, have none at all beyond the first day.

I think the pads you have should be enough. Most ladies just use panty liners. I took a pack with me to the hospital, but was too groggy to actually get them out of my suitcase, so I just used the ones that the castle provided - those big bulky ones. But I only had to use two of them, as the third day, the discharge stopped and never, ever started again!

Best wishes on your upcoming surgery and s,

Lisa

pads

I think we're all different and so are surgeries. I've read of women here who have bled for weeks. My own experience was one pad in the operating room and then.......nothing! Kept waiting for the other shoe to drop but at four 1/2 weeks post I think I'm home free. Guess someone thought I'd bled enough already. Hope it's this easy for you!

Pads?

Hi

Regarding the use of pads. I had a TAH/BSO and used panty liners for about 3 weeks with just a little bit of discharge coming out. Unfortunately, I also had to use them because my incision came open and they worked better than gauze and tape!

I think you probably have enough to get you through any discharge you might have

Sending you a big

Patty

Pads?

Back in my pre-op days I was flooding so I bought a Costco-sized box of pads. Post-op I wore panty liners at first because I just couldn't get past the idea that I wouldn't suddenly start bleeding again. My stitch dissolving discharge started on post-op day 11 so I went back to wearing a pad - one during the day and one in the evening. I'm about 4.5 weeks post-op now and still wear a pad because I never know how much discharge I'll have that day. I did too much because I was feeling so good and still have an area that is healing and causing discharge. That's all my fault. I'm trying to be a very good princess so I have a good post-op check-up next week. Hubby wants me to be released for intercourse soon and my libido is so good I agree with him!

Don't buy - or give anything away - until you know for sure whether or not you need them.
