1 month post-op dull low back pain, spots

I am 1 month post-op from LSH w/ovaries left in. I am feeling some low back pain and had a tiny bit of spotting on the TP in the bathroom. I just got over the stomach flu w/major intestinal trouble, could that have anything to do with my low back pain? Is it the "mini-periods" talked about? Can anyone explain the mini-periods and what they feel like? I've looked around but haven't got the exact description. Thanks to anyone who can answer me !

Hi LauraJean27,

I also had a LSH. The spotting you are experiencing could be from surgery. I have read that some LSH Hyster Sisters have spotting for up to 6 weeks.

On the mini-period, if a Hyster Sister keeps one or both ovaries and the cervix, there is a chance of a mini-period in post-op. Generally, ladies report that it only requires a panty liner at that time of the month.

With the low back pain, that could be due to post-op and non-activity due to surgery. You could also check with your Dr. and see if it could be due to the position you were in during the LSH.

Best wishes,

Mary
