feeling good

I had my surgery on the 29th. NO PAIN! I was amazed! I thought anyone that even suggested that there would be no pain must be out of their minds. I didn't need any pain meds until I started walking around 7PM that evening. I have three incisions. One in my navel has two stitches. And one on each side has three stitches each. The doc said everything went better than he expected. It only took an hour instead of the two he expected. He said my endo was definitely back and pretty much all over the place again! He said I could go home instead of staying the one night as long as I could pee, walk the hall and my blood work came back okay. I was out of there around 9:30. I did have a lot of nausea but I didn't get sick. He gave me a prescription for Mepergan for pain/nausea. I did take it that night and the first day home. After that I didn't really need it. I feel pretty good. The bruises hurt more than anything. My lower back hurts if I sit at the computer for too long. I haven't had any trouble with constipation. It comes out more as diarhea though. I'll be glad when that finally stops. I did have a problem with gas pains in my shoulder and rib cage until Saturday. That finally went away. My appetite is slowly coming back. I almost wish it would stay away for a while. I could stand to lose more than a few pounds! My only real problem right now seems to be that I can't sleep through the night. I will sleep for a few hours and then wake up for an hour or so. This goes on all night long. I go back to the doc on Friday. The discharge instructions were no lifting over 10 pounds and no sexual activity. The nurse didn't say anything about not driving. I am going on the discharge instructions I got in March when I had my lap/LSO. They were stricter. I'm not doing anything I don't feel comfortable doing until I talk to the doctor on Friday. I hope the rest of you are doing well soon.

spoke a little too soon?

I think I may have spoken a little too soon. I decided today was the day to make a couple of quick trips just to get some walking in. DH and I had to go to Lowe's. Then later in the day we made a quick trip to Wal-Mart. Tonight I feel like I am get spasms in my lower left back and in the pelvic area on the right. It was bothering me enough to take some pain meds. I just hope it helps and allows me to get some sleep tonight!

I was the same, I had twinges and small spasms for a few weeks. You are still healing on the inside so don't overdo it. Easier said than done, I know, since there isn't much pain. I drove at 1 week. Didn't lift over 10 pounds for about 4 weeks though-it just didn't feel right. Now I am back to normal (except a little HRT learning curve!) and so glad I had it done! Still can't believe I will never need those monthly supplies again. That has been a constant for so many years.
