17 days post hysterectomy - incisional odor and pain

I had an abdominal hysterectomy 17 days ago. All that remains are my ovaries. I've been having good days and bad days. One day I feel incredible and the next day I feel like I'm taking 5 steps back. Since yesterday I have noticed incisional odor, and my pain has increased. I have my first follow up appointment with my gynecologist tomorrow, otherwise I'd make sure I was seen somewhere. I have a bad history of surgical wounds not healing, which led to me becoming septic and losing all of my hair and skin, so I'm a little bit freaked out. I work in nursing but don't have any experience in this area.
