Re: About the catheter and about LSH

I wish I had a cath in when I woke up. I had a TVH on the 15th and had to keep getting up to pee after surgery. I didn't get any sleep that first night. My roommate had a cath and she sleep peacefully. The only good thing was I walked so much that I didn't get stiff that first day. I think that helped. Godd luck with your surgery. I had a cath before, it doesn't hurt at all.

Re: About the catheter and about LSH

I had good size fibroids and had an LSH - kept cervix and ovaries. I'd think another opinion might be a good idea.

The doctor I had for my C-sect (daughter got cushioned between the fibroids and couldn't turn around) only does abdominal hysterectomies, so I got another doctor because I wanted an option that was somewhat easier than that.

Check around - and you'll be glad to have a catheter, it comes out quick too with hardly any feeling.

Best of luck!
