Ladies, thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with me!

Healthyrepchick, thank you for your response. I think I will go get my prescriptions filled. I actually have the progesterone , prometrium, and I was to take it before surgery in order to try to keep uterine lining from getting too thick, as that had been a problem. It was also being taken to shrink the huge cyst on my one remaining ovary. Unfortunately, the prometrium made me feel absolutely horrible, so I'm afraid to start taking it again. Oddly enough, the cream made me feel fabulous, I may ask if I can use that again, though I guess the concern is that the cream doesn't deliver a large enough dose.

Elsie1122, thank you for your comments, you helped me realize that maybe this HRT is going to make me feel better.

Ikw1226, I appreciate your feedback. My surgeon did not want to start me on HRT before surgery due to the blood clot risk. In one of my previous surgeries my blood was too "thick" so he opted not to take the risk. He didn't want to start the HRT until I started feeling the symptoms just to minimize the risk of the clots.

JennyZumbaMami, thank you for replying to my post, I appreciate your feedback. The surgeon did prescribe HRT, I just haven't filled the prescription yet. I stopped the narcotics around week two, which is just as well as they were giving me pretty bad side effects like severe nausea, trouble breathing and poor sleep/nightmares. My surgeon, who is a gynecologist/obstetrician, told me way ahead of time that he was going to be out of the office for a few weeks and had me come in for a check up just before he left. His practice consists of just him, so there would be no one else in his office to confer with. However, he did prescribe the hormones already and if I ran into trouble post op I could head to emergency or see my family doctor. The ER would have another gynecologist on call if I really needed one. I also have an appointment set up for when he returns. I'm in Canada though so things may work a bit differently in the US in some cases. I'm not actually at the point where I can walk for a straight fifteen minutes, but I have been walking more frequently for short amounts of time to increase my stamina. I have a huge abdominal incision though so that would account for not being able to walk for that long yet. I have plans to take up pilates when I am cleared for exercise, as well as weight bearing exercises to prevent bone loss and some cardio as well. The zumba thing looks kind of interesting, I may look into that.

If I missed anyone in my reply, please accept my apologies. I sincerely appreciate the feedback that you all have provided. I was really feeling alone and quite down, it's nice to see that others are around to offer their experience. I feel a little better now. I think HRT is the right thing and if I don't feel well on it I can always stop it. I think a trip to the hairdresser for a little pick me up is in order. I welcome any further feedback from those who have posted or those who come across this thread. I wish you all happiness and good health.
