Morning all. Crazy weather in Canada this week!

Well I am one week away and the nerves are getting to me.
I ad my ob preop yesterday and my family doc is today with the blood work and any final questions I guess.

I am having a LAVH on the 30th at 8 am and I was prescribed adivan .5 mg(?) and more torodal .10 mg to get me thru the next week.

I really don't like taking meds as I was sick for 5 years and became a guinea pig trying to cure this horrific unexplained cough, I finally gave in and just cough but it is a pain and trust me I went everywhere for relief. It also freaks me out that I will have a big ouchy and have this gutteral cough to deal with and I don't smoke tobacco!

my question when I asked my doc about pain meds after he said I would be fine as I gave birth to 3 decent sized kids with nothing more than a crazy crying laugh and some gas so he said I would be on a pump for 24 hours (and that means what) and then he will leave orders for something else.........

By the way I know every doc is different but he said no bowel prep is needed but if I like I can do an enema .......thinking of doing a full cleanout and then one less thing to worry about after....any opinions!

I guess he knows his stuff and he knows codiene is out of the question soooooooo my question to you gals is with hopefully no huge incision across the belly but only 5 little ones will I be in a drug induced pain relief for a while or should I be expecting maybe just hurting and oh yeah the vag stitches still freak me out!

Ok I am sure I will post more crazy questions as the days go on so just bear with this crazy canuck!

love to all and only good vibes being sent and received.

ps oh and my audit is tomorrow on top of all of this stress!!!!

Hi there, you sound normal to me with those nerves acting up so soon to your surgery.

The pump that dr talked about is probably one that administers pain meds. Since you said that codeine is a no no for you, you might want ask ask what pain meds are to be in the pump. I have reactions to codeine and had one to morphine too.

As for myself, I wouldn't do anything that my dr said wasn't necressary. If he ok'd an enema that's ALL that I would do - anything more could compromise you and make for unexpected problems ( dehydration or such ).

Good luck with the audit - what's it for?
