About stitches?

Hello Sisters,

About stitches:
I came home today from the Castle. I am wondering about my external stitches (LAVH), I will have a shower tonight before to go to bed. Was told to shower "them" away from the water. Doctor said they will dissolve or come off in about two days...

About Gas:
I already had a "royal belly" before my surgery, no great abs, may be later :0). My belly is swollen and sore right now. I guess once I can get rid off some gas and have a bowel movement I will feel better.

About Diet:
I am pretty much vegetarian, and I am eating tons of green veggies and fruits as always. I added some red meat here and there to cope with the iron deficiency.

What are your suggestions?

Sounds like you're doing everything just beautifully, the shower thing is just keep your back or side to the water, sometimes the water beating on your belly may hurt at first. Take care and rest and rest and rest.

Hey ArticChick ~ You are doing great! The only thing I would add is be sure to use those stool softeners (yes, I preach that always) and drink your water. It will help when those first couple of BMs do occur. Best wishes ~
