I was wondering if anyone else had to keep wearing the support stockings after they got home? I had surgery on Mon and was told to wear them till friday but my legs are getting sore.

I haven't heard of this but maybe your at a higher risk of getting a blood clot or something and the DR is just being extra careful. When you first get home its hard to get around and so maybe they just want to make sure your getting good circulation! Hugs honey, I hope your feeling better from your surgery.

I had my LAVH -LSO 8 days ago and have been told to wear sockings until I fully resume normal activities. Apparantly there is higher risk of DVT with this type of op as opposed to normal surgery. Anyway, Its cold in Australia right now and I love them, thought I might even dye them when I'm feeling better. Once you wash them a couple of times they will become slightly bigger but still provide support. My friend had her op in summer and said she hated them. Give them a wash, they may feel more comfortable.

I had to wear those oh-so-comfy and attractive stockings when I got home. Basically, I was told to keep them on as long as possible until I was more active. They are uncomfortable, but I decided to leave nothing to chance and think I ended up wearing them for about 2 weeks or so.

All hospitals, doctors and procedures seem to be different but, if you've been told to wear them until Friday, you should try to hang in there. It won't be long!

Take care.
