Should I still be having pain at rest 2 weeks following a total abdominal hysterectomy & BSO?

I am definitely feeling a bit better than I was a week ago, but still having pain, and some bleeding started a few days ago as well. I am swollen at the wound site, but there's no redness or fever, so I am wondering about that as well. I am thinking about going to see the GP tomorrow, as it's meant to be the day I remove the dressing for good, and just leave the steri strips in place,
The video on here says that if we have to be taking pain meds at this point we should see the surgeon. Has anyone else experienced pain for longer with the same kind of surgery? Can anyone shed light on it all for me?

I am also suffering from some middle of the night insomnia and difficulty napping in the day, when I am the queen of the power nap usually. And I cry at the slightest thing, especially sad music. My brain appears to be a blank white canvas often.

I am not sure if I am doing too much, or moving in and out of bed the correct way.

I had surgery just two days after you. I am still having a lot of pain and also am still taking pain meds. I haven't been able to go for walks yet or sit up longer than a couple hours without significant pain. You are not alone. And from all that I've been reading, there are quite a few ladies that have pain a few weeks out. I'll keep you in my prayers. Good luck

Still very early days, and everyone is a little different! I felt wound pain and swelling worse in weeks 2/3 than days 2/3!
Worth checking out though, worry doesnt help the healing process. Good luck x
