Had my TAH BSO 12-9-08, not so bad at al

Hi all,

Well the surgery went really well. Had wpidural for pain management till the next am then took perccet. Had bad gas pains the second day ended up taking a enema with immediate relief of the pains. I would definately recommend jsut taking the enema instead of being miserable with the pains.

I went home on day 3 and was feeling really well, was taking motrin for pain by then. I went home on friday and walked around walmart on saturday. I actually ran into the physicians assistant that helped with my surgery, she couldnt believe i was at walmart. I am really surprised at how little pain i have had, havent takent motrin for a week now. Last night was bale to got to a christmas party at the local casino and play craps for a couple hours.

My doctor wants me to be off work for 8 weeks due to having a tram flap reconstruction this summer which resulted in me haveing a large piece of mesh holding my intestines in place. so she ahd to cut throught the mesh to do the hyst. so she wants me to baby myself.

So to sum it up, it wasnt to bad. The worst thing for me is painful BM's since i have been home. but i see that alot have had the same issue.
