Restless leg syndrome

Someone mentioned that low iron can cause restless leg syndrome!!!! I'm sorry I don't remember who it was.

I have had this since I was a little girl, long before I started menstruating. At times it is worse than others. I always thought I was just weird, didn't really know other people had it too until just recently.

I am taking iron now on gyn's orders for pre-op, when I remember, but I still have problems.

Is low iron the only cause of RLS?

I am so glad to know a possible cause. That means there is hope for a cure!!!

I thank you so very much for that link. It describes me to a T! I remember many nights as a child walking around my bedroom because I couldn't get my legs to settle down.

Now, there are many nights that I must drive my husband crazy jerking around. Sometimes I can't stand to even have his hand rest on my leg because I just have to move.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Maybe the iron supplements and B12 dr. suggested will help relieve some of this.

Hi Lynn if the iron doesn't do the trick, you might want to try adding magnesium to your supplements... many sisters here have found relief from their restless leg syndrome by adding magnesium.
