got my date

saw the gyne today and he has given me my date for my hysterectomy as 14/7/04. glad to have a date at last. Please give me any tips on what to expect as i am really nervousbut also looking forward to having a life again. The surgon has not said which way it will be done as he wants to wait until i am under the anesthetic before he dicides so i dont know what i will wake up with.
One minute i want to cry the next i want to laugh is this normal.
Ihave got a mix of emotions also due to my grandmother being ill in hospital at the moment and i cant get to see her as i am currently living in cyprus and she is in the uk
Also is any one else going in on the 14 of july as i would love to here how they are feeling to and to know i am not on my own .
My dh has been great and has arranged to be off work until the 8th august so that will be a great help.

I am going through a slue of emotions myself and I think that is normal. I hope your grandmother will be okay. I just buried a friend last week on top of everything else. I check this site almost everyday and read about others experiences. I know Miztrina might be a good one to ask since she just went through it last week and seems to be doing very well. I keep praying I will get through it the way she has. For right now I am in the same boat as you.

I am also scheduled for my surgery on July 14, 2004, I can not wait until I am in recovery. I was original scheduled for June 3rd but due to a fever I had to be rescheduled. My doctor said she is going to try an do my surgery vaginal but she made not be able to if I have a lot of scar tissue. I will not no which way it was done until I wake up.
