questions: four months post op

Hi out there,

I was wondering if anyone else is having issues around four months post op? I have been ignoring this for a couple of weeks and have been trying to convince myself that with positive thinking and checking off tasks around the house that it will pass, but I isn't passing. I'm having a bit of nausea, breast tenderness, bladder irritation, a little abdominal swelling, especially after vacuuming two days ago and am feeling really emotional. I'm in denial as though I never had the procedure and simply went about my daily routine, running and housekeeping sooner that I should have. It hasn't culminated untill now. I had a fairly easy procedure on Sept 27, 06 (I had multiple cysts and fibroids, and spent one night in the hospital for pain management and a bit of dehydration) I had a good check up at six weeks, lurked on the message boards, but was pretty quiet. Shame on me, I know thats what this boards are for. I kept my right ovary, but am wondering if it sounds like temporary menopause or infection?
Any thoughts?

Full recovery from a hyst can take six months to a year. Feeling fatigued is a very common symptom. As you kept your ovaries, they could still be sleeping, thus causing hormone issues. During a hyst the blood supply to the ovaries is cut off and it can take some time for them to wake back up. It never hurts to call the doctor and have him/her check you out. So yes, I think you should call the doctor and schedule an appointment.

Thanks so much for the advice. I guess it is time to call the Dr.
It's been scary, as I am sure all of the Women on this forum feel. I'm young to have had this procedure, only thirty five and have had no family around. Thank God for my Husband. He's exhausted and has been very understanding. I've tried to be strong for my family and prayed that we could get through this quickly and get back to normal, but whew, what a ride.
I kept one ovary and my cervix was removed, so I have a "sac" or some sort where everything was sewn back up. Have you noticed that having one ovary instead of two ovaries make a difference at this point?
Thank you.

If you have already been released by your surgeon, then call your PCP.

Mine were up and running in about a month BUT - my hormone levels are so high for my age (48) that it's like I'm in my 30's... It can take time for them to wake but getting the levels checked can't hurt either... it's a couple tubes of blood at most...
