Need new undies!!! Also need advice...

I had LAVH and I had and still get swelly belly. I have 4 small incision, 1 belly and 3 lower abdomen/pelvic area. The only thing that I can wear right now is dresses or pants/shorts with drawstrings that fall between my belly button and lower incisions. Actually today, I can barely stand the band from my panties on my belly which is new and I am 3weeks out today.

Hi all, I had A TVH and I to get swelly belly but not quite as bad as you would with an TAH. although for me it feels as though i'm filling up with gas come evening lol. reba

Ah yes, the gorgeous swelly belly, I hate it already, and am only day 8!!!!

Spandex bike shorts and control top briefs (in 2 sizes larger than usual) have really helped. Maybe your DH would like a sexier nightie for Father's Day. For you to wear that is! Hope you heal quickly.

Thanks everyone! These are some good ideas. Another note on swelly-belly...in the last two days two separate people have commented on when I'm due. OMG! One lady thought I was due anyday, and my aunt-by-marriage thought I had kept 9-months' of pregnancy from her! All the more reason to work on the swellybelly. Geesh!

Can anyone tell me just how long it takes swelly belly to go down? Does it really go away? I am 13 weeks out...looked great at 8 weeks but have been getting swelly belly again!

I am really tired and want to wear my jeans again...I actually lost weight and have been exersing to keep it off so that is not the reason I can't fit into my jeans.

I am going to weigh in on the whole swelly belly deal. I am only a few days out so i know it's still a reaction to surgery but I had an LSH and my incision under my belly button is swollen and bruised. I have a little pot going that hurts like the dickens when pressed on. Panties are a pill but I just do the "low-rider" think and wear big t shirts so no one looks. maybe ice will help..hmm..another call to the dr!
