I'm home! Its not all that bad!!!
GoForTheGold, yes, someone can die during surgery--or before or after! Truth is we are all living on borrowed time....every day I'll hear or read a story of someone who does something they've done a thousand times before--get into their car, go for a jog, step on a ladder, go to sleep--and through accident or just because it's their time to die, they're gone. Death is the other side of life, always with us, that's the reality, so all we can do is prepare as best we can for what we know best--life, and I think making the effort to remain positive is part of that preparation.

Tidbit, glad to hear you're feeling so well. I also thank you for the encouraging words, as I'm just 11 days away now (pre-op & endometrial biopsy Monday), and feeling anxious. It's so reassuring to hear all the success stories, and how wonderful it is to live a normal, pain-free life....I'm looking forward to those days!

I know..I know, and as a rule, I don't generally allow things like this to bother me. One of the reasons I'm having the A&P repair/sling.hystero, etc. in the first place IS to have a better quality of life. Of course, the large ovarian cyst is what is prompting me to get it done sooner than later. I think as I get older, I sometimes view life as even more precious. But, again, I certainly don't myself dwell on the "what ifs" to the point of becoming obsessed paranoid. Not at all. I just think this untimely death of someone I listen to everyday on the radio just kind of hit me. But then that's fairly normal, I think. Thank you for your thoughtful reply.

I'm glad my post helped you. Thats why I had to come back on here as soon as I could to tell everyone that it is relatively easy. I was so nervous last week, didnt' go a day without crying at least twice, and no matter how I tried to keep focused on other things, the surgery was all I could think of. I was a mess. I could not believe what an emotional wreck I was...it took me completely by surprise.
But being on here really helped me to feel like I was not a wacko - but instead, completely normal.
I'm feeling a lot better today than yesterday. I'm up (on the couch) for about 4 hours, then I have to go to bed and sleep for about 3 hours. Its amazing how much better I feel after I get up from a nap - so make sure you get your rest when you come home!
You will be surprised how easy it is. I will be praying for you and the other sisters with upcoming surgeries. God bless you !
