Now I am a Lady in waiting.

I went to the Doc today after laproscopic proceedure last week to remove right ovary/complex mass. He told me he went in "looking for a complex mass, but found a complete mess!" Anyway - as I figured, he recommeded a TAH - the mess is too diffucult to remove vaginally, and both ovaries are basically glued to my uterus. He cauterized what endometriosis he could see, but said there was some he missed because he couldn't see around my ovaries. In a way, I am greatly relieved. This same Doc has been telling me for 2 1/2 years that I really didn't have anything wrong. He made me feel like it was all in my head! I am glad to find out I am not a complete nut-case! (yet) Anyway - I have been looking forward everyday to seeing who has been here since my last visit and have already gleaned a lot of wisdom from all of you already. So, my date at the Castle is for Sep 10, 2003. I'll be peeking in everyday to see how everyone is doing, and watching for LIW's with the same date. Thanks in advance for the support and friendship. :0)

Now I am a Lady in waiting.

Imeldav

Sorry to hear things didn't work out so well with the lap. Your insides sound a lot like mine, my dr. said there was no way I had to worry about any kind of prolaps because everything was all bound together so tightly it couldn't fit into the vagina. Lucky Us huh.

I was starting to wonder if I would be the only LIW left on the pre-op boards...just kidding.

Chin up, at least we know it will all be gone in a month or so.

Now I am a Lady in waiting.

Welcome Imeldav!!

I am sorry you have had to go through all this, but how validating in a way to finally have your doc realize it ISN'T all in your head.

Anyway - I just wanted to welcome you, and trust me - you will be thrilled you found this site!!

Now I am a Lady in waiting.

ladynwaiting, Jess, Enjoli -
Thanks for your words of encouragement! We will all get thru this together. It helps me worry less about myself to think about others in the same boat I'm in - and thanks for that too. It seems like once upon a time women didn't talk about these things - it was a shameful thing. I'm SO glad I'm not going thru this alone. How did they do it? I feel like I have the suport of extra friends because of all the Hyster-sisters....

re: same surgery date

Hi Imeldav,
Doc just called - my TAH-BSO date has been moved up to 9-10-03, so we are surfing buddies!
We've been thru so much up to this point, I know we can make it and it will certainly be worth the journey to get rid of this painful mess & constant worry.
Let's stay in touch...
Best of luck to you.

Now I am a Lady in waiting.

Calmstorm! ((Warm Hugs))

Thanks for writing. Are you nervous? I am not yet, just a little overwhelmed - I'm in the middle of planning a baby shower for my daughter who will deliver my grandaughter in early November, and trying to figure out how many casseroles a week I need to make and freeze so I won't have to cook when I get home. My 9 year old daughter is asking a lot of questions - I've been upfront thru all this and told her I'm going to have my "nest " taken away. Will you have much family around to help out? When was your original date? Let's keep in touch - I'll be wanting to see what progress we make together! This can only be a good thing!!

Now I am a Lady in waiting.

Hi Imeldav,

Sheesh, your situation sounds a lot like mine. I went years being undiagnosed, being treated for stomach problems! I ended up in the emergency OR before I was finally diagnosed correctly by the OB/GYN that was on call. I have stage 4 endo and he said my insides were glued together! He ended up saving my life (my cyst had ruptured) and has been my Dr from then on. I totally trust him and I thank GOD that he was the Dr on call that day. He will be doing my surgery on September 9th, so I am one day ahead of you.
We women know when something is wrong and I always listen to what my gut (no pun intended) says.

I will be thinking of you and wishing you a relaxing recovery.

Now I am a Lady in waiting.

Dear aj210,

I'm glad we all have a place like this to go and get help. It's hard to deal with everything else, and keep yourself together plus deal with pain! I am SO looking forward to the other side!
We'll keep track of each other, and be buddies. Look for calmstorm, she's going the same date as I am, we'll all be in this together. Everyone is so nice here.

Stay in touch and keep your chin up - it can only get better from here!
