Super sore and feeling awful

I'm one that generally tolerates pain well, I've had two laps in the past and wasn't bothered by them. I just had my TAH on last Monday and let me tell you, holy heck am I dying in pain. I'm starting to get better, today was my first day I suffered through without any drugs but I'm laying here super sore and with a heating pad on me. I couldn't believe how painful it was for me. Everyone I know kept saying I'd be fine and even my grandmother told me I needed to lay off the drugs and 'just deal with it and take it easy' ugh! I was getting pretty upset over feeling as awful as I do but for some reason my body chose to act this way.

Your body will heal better if you are not in pain. Please take the drugs as your doctor has directed. He or she is the one with the medical degree!

Re: I have a history of industrial strength pain. Tips?

Oh I totally agree and I have been taking them as needed but I was getting to the point I couldn't even function on them and was getting more sick by taking them around the clock, severe nausea and migraines and first constipation but now diarrhea as well as my BP kept bottoming out and I've nearly passed out at least twice every day. Yesterday was the first day I didn't almost collapse. I have a bad history of getting debilitating headaches from being on any pain meds, even ibuprofen. The pain that I'm currently having isn't being helped by the meds anyway and I'm seeing my dr tuesday about it because I can't even lay on my left side. Overall my incisional pain is gone and I'm moving around better now than I was 2 days ago, I just never expected to be in the pain I was in.

Let us know what your doctor says Tuesday. Hopefully your healing well and your doctor will be able to tell you what kind of pain relief medication will work for you without all the side effects.

Thanks! I will I'm hoping he can also tell me why I'm having all this constant diarrhea since the meds should be out of my system now. Blah.
