ANyone's uterus bigger than mine?
NO idea of cm...but 18 weeks and the size of a "football". Turned out to be 790g/1 3/4 lbs.
Normal uterus weight is 400g or just under 1/4 lb.

ANyone's uterus bigger than mine?
I certainly glad I can't beat your record NewWoman. Mine was around 18 to 20 cm. I had fibriods and adenomyosis. I ended up with a nice 9" bikini incision, even with that my doc had to tug and pull to get the thing out. I'm glad mine didn't get to 22 cm. I've healed up nicely with not too much pain, and glad to put the experience behind me. The only thing I have noticed is that my stomach is numb between my belly button and the top of my incision. Strange feeling. Good luck to you.

ANyone's uterus bigger than mine?
Mine's between 24-26 weeks size. I am looking forward to being rid of this monster thing. I feel like one of the other sisters said- like a snake that swallowed a rat! I am thin with a gigantic lump.
Won't we all be glad to be rid of these things? I don't know about you but when I wake up in the recovery room I am going to put my hand on my belly just to assure myself the awful thing is GONE.
Others with a bowling ball belly have told me you can feel the difference right away. I hope it's true! Won't it be nice when the swelly belly fades and we can fit into normal clothes again?

I believe than you are "22 weeks"- I think it is measured that way- each cm equals one week of pregnancy

ANyone's uterus bigger than mine?
My dr told me that my largest fibroid was 11cm. but I have many small [too many to count], She told me that my uterus was so full that it was like a 20 wk uterus, so I'm not sure that they rate the size of your uterus on how big the biggest fibroid is, but what else could be going on too. Isn't funny how all doctors have different ways of telling you what's going on! I guess you just have to trust the one you pick is a good one.
Hopefully Fibroid Free in a few weeks!!!!

The Dr's have different explanations, I agree...
My Dr. said that my uterus is equvilant to a 4-5 month pregnancy...but he also gave me the dimensions of my uterus from the ultrasound. Which was 13.8cm x 9.6cm x 9.1cm...which is quite large when you map it out. The general comparison average uterus is 5-6cm x 4-5cm x 4-5 cm, on average from what I've read and the dr. has told me. Which the only thing that concerns me is that I actually LOOK 4-5 months pregnant and have some of the symptoms lol But, again that's normal for some of us :P My surgery (total hysterectomy) is scheduled for this Fri afternoon...trying to keep good thoughts, but scared...Never thought I'd have a hysterectomy at 39. Have you seen the pics of the hysterectomy where the uterus was considered a full term pregnancy? I think she has the largest...but there was also one that weighed 140lbs (I believe it was). Makes it somewhat easier for me to deal with my situation and be sympathetic to the others that are dealing with more than I am.

WOW, Thanks NewWoman. I know that my largest of the 6 fibroids measured 13cmx9cm but I was alway curious about the measurements of my uterus.
That explains why I feel so

ANyone's uterus bigger than mine?
My uterus was the size of a 20 wk pregnancy. It extended all the way up to above my belly button. My doctor said it weighed a whopping 4 lbs! Whoa Nelly! No wonder I was exhausted all the time, I used all my energy keeping "It" alive. I too didn't realize it could adversly effect my other internal organs, I'm so glad it's gone!

18 cm, honorable mention?
Wow! Suddenly I don't feel so alone any more. My uterus is 18 cm, allegedly the size of a 20-week pregnancy. There are lots of large fibroids lazing around in there, those giant sloth vampires sucking my blood supply, but the single biggest one is 8 cm x 12 cm. It has outgrown its blood supply and the center is dead ("necrosis"). As you probably already know, as these cells die, they emit toxins which in turn inflame and irritate the tissues --> PAIN.
Terrified of my approached TAH -- ballpark date will be some time between Sept. 18 & 30 -- but the more I think about it, the more glad I am that I will soon be waving bye-bye to these nasty aliens in my tummy.

ANyone's uterus bigger than mine?
Hmm - my gyn says my 10 x 8 uterus in combo with my multiple fibroids (two largest measuring 5 cm ea) is too large for laproscopic or LAVH removal - anyone had more favorable news?
