daVinci ~ how long is the surgery?

I'm having the daVinci surgery Jan 5, uterus, cervix and ovaries arre coming out. Forgot to ask Dr how long the surgery usually is, how long was yours? Also heard that drinking Pear juice/nectar would help with constipation, anyone heard of that?

I have heard of pear juice being helpful for constipation and have seen it work. I think everyone's length of surgery will vary. It depends on what the doctor finds once he goes in. Especially if the individual has had previous surgeries.

My surgery was around 4 hours. It depends on what all they are doing.

I haven't heard about the pear juice and nectar but can't hurt.

Mine was also around 4 hours. I was on a liquid diet the day before the surgery and continued for 2 days after surgery. I didn't have any constipation problems at all and believe that helped it out.

Mine also was around 4 hrs. Please do not stress on the time, it will worry you to death for no reason. t is normal to be scared!! Hang in there

My surgery lasted about 3.5 hours, but then I was in recovery for 5! I forget to wake up after surgery, normal for me. Once I woke up I was fine and went home 90 min. later.

According to surgeon, my actual davinci took 20 minutes. It was the prep for the surgery in the OR that took 90 minutes. When he came in the next morning after surgery to see me, a surgeon friend of mine was with me and he discussed all of this with him. I do know that I went into surgery at 1:15pm and he was down discussing the surgery with my family at around 3pm, Seems a bit quick to me, but hey, whatever works. All I know is that the Robotic surgery is amazing and the recovery time is much quicker.

You really cannot get hung up on the time. Everyone's will vary. Mine took 8 hours.
