Hello... I am 29 and 10 days post op. I am also going nuts around the house. I think the crying is normal. I have had days when I felt great and days when I felt like the world was coming to an end. Over the weekend my sweet husband breathed funny once when I was talking to him and I took it so personal that I started to cry hysterically and almost fell down, he caught me. This evening we were watching a movie and I felt like I was going to cry for no reason at all. My hubby could tell something was wrong so he paused the movie and said do you need to talk, I said no I just feel like crying but I am going to try not to today.
did you keep your ovaries? I had a LAVH and had to have everything removed due to horrible endo and adhesions. I am taking 1mg of estrace.

why did you have your surgery? I was dx with endo almost 10 years ago. I have had surgery 8 times for clean ups in hopes that I could some how get out of having a hysto. It did not work...
During surgery my Dr took pictures of my insides and gave them to me before I left the ***. He told me that anytime I felt regret to look at those pictures as a reminder of the pain I was in before surgery. I have looked at them several times and when I see the black spots of endo and the horrible adhesions I had it gives me a quick reality check.
It's to late to go back now. Acceptance is a hard thing and different for everyone. You need to find a way to accept what has happend to you, it's not fair to any of us having to go through this but once it's done there is no going back. As my Dr told me regret is a hard thing to live with, that's why he gave me the pictures. I was so upset about having to have this surgery, I felt like I was too young and that it would some how change not only my body but who I am. I am learning that's not the case.

Yes I'm glad I'm not alone. Not happy so many women are in the same boat. I went to the GYN Dr. on Friday and then to the new Walmart to check it out and I wanted to rip people heads off for getting in my way! I was tired and moody most of the day. Crabby... Zits too. I'm also still bleeding almost 8 weeks post-op the GYN Dr says it's all normal....

Hi kstwister;
I'm sorry you are having such a hard time now.
You are only two weeks along in your recovery. You will feel better, it just takes time. We all heal at different rates.
My crying "spells" went on for a month or so. It's completely normal. Sometimes after surgery, your ovary('s) take a nap so to speak. You should be able to "function" with one ovary, it will take time as well.
If you are feeling extremely "blue" you should talk with your doctor about something to help you along until you get over the "hump" so to speak. If your dcotor "blows you off" talk to him until he listens! You are paying him to care for you, make him!
If you look at the top of the page, you will see where it says "for men" click on that and have your husband read it. Maybe he'll better understand what you are going through.
The spotting usually comes along at about the 2 week mark. It is usually caused by your stitches desolving and also "old blood" inside coming out.
It's hard to say how long it will last as everyone is different. I only spotted for the 4 days following my surgery.
Some women also report the stitches on their paper or in the toilet so don't be alarmed if that happens to you.
You should be able to take some short walks. Go outside and enjoy some fresh air. Walk a little bit then go back inside.
If you want to go to the store, have your husband push you in a wheel chair! I did that and felt so good being out. (Most stores have wheel chairs for use).
I hope you start feeling better soon. Just take one day at a time! You'll get there!
Sybie

to lonely and confused
Hi KSTwister
I am from Wichita, Kansas. I had a total Hyster on January 28.
I am older than you. I am 53. But, I'm very glad I made the decision to have the surgery.
We belong to a wonderful church. Some of the women have brought meals the last 3 nights and our Pastor of Women has checked on me almost every day.
I encourage you to look for a church when you feel better if you do not belong to one. However, remember the Lord loves you and wants you to be well and happy.
I woke up crying a while ago and my husband sat up with me and talked and then I came out here to write. I feel better already.
Just remember you are not alone. Write to me if you really get down and I will try and help or maybe just tell you some silly story or something to make you smile.
Good Luck.. We all love you...
Gail 20 in Wichita, Kansas
