Re: Questions about wearing binder?

I had a TAH and wore my binder comfortable tight. I'm 9 wks post op and still use it if I'm going to be on my feet all day.

Re: Questions about wearing binder?

I wore mine for about 4 weeks post op. I would make it pretty tight because I have a big tummy anyway and with the swelling, something to hold it in really felt good. Honestly, I dont think I took it off much for those first few weeks. Only once in a while at night when I went to sleep (what little sleep I did get).

You'll know if its too tight lol! But it was the best thing that I have ever asked for. Wish I woulda had one after my csection.

Re: Questions about wearing binder?

I plan on wearing mine as long as possible a i hd the hernia repair also. I am going to sleep with it on until i call the doc on monday. I didn't shower today (too afraid too), but naturally it's going to come off and I know that coe somewhat feel painful when all lets loose. Mine is comfortably tight and i have no problem with coughing or laughing thus far. I too wish I had one after C-section, may not have ended up with a hernia to begin with

Re: Questions about wearing binder?

I think if you lay on the bed and put it on then when you stand up and sit as well it's the right amount of tightness

Re: Questions about wearing binder?

I like to wear mine for the most part but at times it's uncomfortable and too stiff. I'm wondering if I have something different and if there is a softer one out there and one you would wear outside. I want to be able to wear something when I go out shopping or something.
