Finally saw my gyn

Hi all, I found out last week, from an US, that I had 4 fibroids and a nabothian cyst.. all benign of course, so I wasn't too freaked, but realized that a castle visit was probably in my future.

I finally got in to see my new Dr. (I love her btw, she was great). She confirmed what I thought, hysterectomy, but also removal of cervix. : ( She said ovaries looked good, so they could stay.

She did a end. biopsy today and wants to see me next week for a Colposcopy. Evidentally, it wasn't a nabothian cyst. She said we could discuss when and what then. I asked he if she suspected Cancer of the cervix of something, she said she no, she didn't think so, just wanted a closer look.

What else could she be looking for?

I thought I was nervous before, but now that I've got this hanging over my head, I really am getting shaky. She really spent alot of time with me and answered all the questions that I asked, I guess I just froze when I started hearing terms like biopsy and colposcopy.

Anyone else had those done for anything other than a cancer scare??

7 more days to find out what's going on in this body.. geez..

I do love this site!

Thanks in advance,
Sherry

I had a colposcopy for dysplasia which can become cancer . Try to have faith that your doctor is telling you the truth- he wants a closer look at your cervix- maybe to determine if it definitly needs to be removed. God Bless Paula

I also had a colposcopy, found displaysia and ended up having a leep. I had numerous abnormal paps, but the last one I had finally came out normal! So don't fret too much, odds are everything will be O.K. I have a cousin who had cervical cancer and she is doing just fine. It truly is one of the most curable out there. Odds are, you will come out just fine from all of this, so hang in there!!!! Tickles
