dVH/RALH: I dont know if its depression or anemia

hey ladies!!!
I have a question and hope that somebody can answer it.
I have been bleeding since the 20th of may and all I can do is sleep I wake up and I get my kids together by the time noon comes I am sleep and then I wake up and cook and by time we done eating I am sleep again. I dont know what it is I been taking my iron everyday on time what you guys think?

Hi Tamika - when was the last time you had your hemoglobin tested? I felt very much like you describe when I was at the worst low, just avoided a blood transfusion. Please tell your doctor how you're feeling. For me, I didn't start actually feeling the benefit of my iron supplements until my blood loss was stabilized. It looks like you have surgery in three days, is that right? I'm sure your doctor must be keeping a close eye on your blood levels but please make sure you tell them how exhausted you are feeling.

Hi Tamika, have you had your blood drawn for your pre-op labs? If so, they would be checking your blood counts for anemia. Call your dr tomorrow and check your labs. If you are not anemic you could be a little depressed with only a few days left until surgery. Or you could just be tired getting everything done before you go to the hospital. For what it's worth, I bled daily for almost 7 months before surgery on 6/21, sometimes light and sometimes heavy, but never got anemic. Hang in there! Not long now for you!
