offered a p.e teachng job?

Hi Ladies,
I need your advice. Today I was offered a position at the local school as a physical education teacher one day per week. My problem is that when school goes back I will only be 4 weeks post op. I am thinking maybe I could discuss it with my principal and organise to do very light classes for the first couple of weeks, or until my 6 week check at least? I dont want to hurt my chances of getting the job, but at the same time I dont want to over do it and prolong my recovery. What should I do? I have an appoinment to chat with him about it tomorrow morning.
Also, if I do take the job, how long will it be before I can begin doing things that are really physical such as dancing and running etc..?

Re: offered a p.e teachng job?

I was cleared for unlimited activity at 5 wks and did fine, but it really depends on the individual and Dr. I think caution for a couple wks sounds about right if it feels right and your Dr agrees. Job offers don't grow on trees so I really understand wanting to make it work. You might be tired but it sounds do-able----good luck.

Go for it! Find a getting to know you type activity for the first day that is not very stressful then ease into something not very taxing the second week and you should be good to go. If you are feeling good, you should do fine. Good Luck with the new job!
