popping out!!!!

I posted a few days ago about possibly having a bladder prolapse. I go to the doc next thursday. Up until today it has felt like a stuck tampon...which it still does, but now there is more pressure down there and even kinda feels like a nerve is being pinched. The more I am up the worse it feels, although it is also uncomfortable sitting.
I am just wondering if waiting until next thursday is ok? I mean will the bladder just keep slipping? When I laugh I feel like it's gonna pop out.
This recovery from hysterectomy has been the worst experience of my life, and I have had some really bad health/personal problems!!!!

Hi Sisters

I know how you are feeling. I had those symptoms before I had my rectocele and enterocele fixed in Jan. My gyn said it shouldn't been causing sharp pains. I had them though. I continue having that uncomfortable feeling in my vagina and some pains. I have to splint in order to bm sometimes. I noticed a bulge coming down from the top when I try to move my bowels. Is this a cystocele? My gyn said I had a small one before my posterior surgery, but it goes all the way down to the bottom of my vagina when I push to go. I am scheduled for a tvt for stress incontinence on July 15th by a urologist. I got me a appt by a pelvic floor specialist (uro gyn) on July 12th. I feel I need to be thoroughly checked by a specialist before I get the suspension. Somehow I really feel I may need another prolapse surgery along with the tvt.if so my surgery will be cancelled and I will follow up with the uro/gyn. I wish this could have all been fixed in Jan. I am so tired of having problems.
Moreouchies:
I also experience a pinching nerve sensation. It seems to be on the bottom left of my vagina. I had rectocele repair done there and had a incision across the bottom. Has your dr. gave you a reason for that pinched nerve sensation?
I am afraid I may need more than the tvt.
I hope we all feel well soon.
Peggy

Hello Sisters,

I, too, am having problems in this direction. I don't think to the degree that you ladies are, but it is still there. I had LAVH, BSO with 'supposed' A&P repair. I say supposed because by the time I had a check up in Jan I was noticing small bulge just inside the vagina, and by Feb, the bulge was sitting right on the edge. I will say that the 'stinging' sensation was helped by replens and a round of premarin cream. Too dry there!!

But I notice now that I have a dull ache in the bladder area, and pressure almost pain just before urinating or bowel movement. figure that is the pressure of it pushing and being out of place.

I am fortunate that haven't had incontinence.

So anyway, right now. I am just in the research mode. trying to find proper doctors etc to deal with this. I had hesitated having the hysto in the first place because I had heard that once ya start this whole thing, it seems it just keeps on going! but thought I had it covered with having the repair done all at once. Guess not!
Sorry I am not much help here, but at least I know there are more of us out there having these difficulties and can be a support to each other!!

(((Sisters))))) I'm sorry you're dealing with these prolapse issues

I had a Stage III Rectocele repaired at the same time as my Hyst, in December 2000. One of the things my Ob/Gyn was very clear on, since I had a 3 month wait between the day I scheduled my surgery and the day I headed for the OR, was to avoid lifting and straining: such efforts might, and probably will, worsen the prolapse.

Lots of s are going your way. Hopefully you'll be heading for full recovery, very soon

I forgot to mention that Dany- and how wonderful that your surgeon was so truthful with you! When asked about exercise specifically, mine said 'not to give up my life' for this and that going to a gym would be fine!

and he said it again after the surgery at my release - in hind sight I realized that I made matters worse!

Listen to her ladies!!

Misery does love company!

It is so great (not really great) to know there are others feeling the same things I am. This is my second time or should I say third time to be going through all this with the same symptoms. Six years ago my uterus was falling out, so I had a complete hysterectomy with a bladder tac, five years ago I had a rectocele and enterocele repain done by my gyn. Now, as of today, I am awaiting surgery again for some of the same problems. This time I am seeing a uro-gyn and hope he has the latest teniques to fix this for FOREVER!
I know exactly how the rest of you are feeling..about sitting, standing and the pinching feeling. I have these too. They may not be life threatening, but certainly quality of life is threatened. I continue to try to work, with the help of pain medication. I will have surgery on June 14th. I have a lot of hope that this will do the trick and I will be normal soon. I wish the best for all of you too. Depending on where you live, finding the right doctor may not be an easy task, but keep looking. Quality is everything!

Hello again

I forgot to ask do any of you girls feel something poking inside when you bend over or change positions when sitting? I did with my rectocele, and am again, but am praying my repair is holding up. I know I have a small cystocele, but would it be doing this? Sometimes I feel it more than other times. I know I have already been through the prolapse situation, but I guess I am trying to talk myself out of the possibility of having another one. During intercourse and after taking walks, etc. I feel something hard popped up on my lower left bottom of my vagina. (right where my posterior repair was 4 months ago). I am also back to splinting at times and this has me very frustrated.
I just wondered if a cystocele feels the same way in there as a rectocele?

Thanks.

Hi Mtdewpeg: I haven't had the pain you mention, but then sometimes I think it is hard to describe to someone exactly how we feel with this condition. If you've never had a problem with prolapse, then there is no way you can truly understand how it feels. Guess we may all have a few different symptoms.
I noticed that you had 4 c-sections. Funny, but my doctor said that if I had had my babies that way, I probably wouldn't be having these problems now. I had all vaginal births. Guess that isn't true!
