Breakthru spotting and bleeding after intercourse

It has been a year that I have been fighting with large ovarian cysts, pelvic pain and the like. I am 32 and have a tubal ligation(3years ago). Last year all was sure that I had some form of ovarian cancer due to the presentation on ultrasound, but the cysts ruptured, the gyn-oncologist sent me back to my gyn for an exploratory lap. By the time he was able to do thae procedure all fluid was gone. I have continued to have problems since then. He has put me on birth control pills to help keep the cysts at bay. For the most part that has worked. I have been having spotting in between my periods and bleeding after intercourse. I spoke with my gyn about it and he says I can stay on the pills a while longer or have an hysterectomy-no answer given to me as the problem. I have been on 5 cycles of pills and have had a "true" period only once since starting the pills. I also have a foul odor eventhough I am very obsessive with cleanliness. He has tested for all infections and nothing shows. Does anyone have any ideas for me? I am not inclined to have the hysterectomy because I am pursuing my BSN at the present time.

One idea may be to get a second opinion. Probably an onocologist/gyn and see what they would have to say.

Sometimes there are options we don't know of and a specialist will give us the most options.
