Bleeding for one month straight!!!

I was just reading about the grape juice effect of blocking iron intake and got to thinking, I'm probably about as iron deficient as anybody right now! For some reason, after a birth control shot that my doc thought might keep me having my cycle, then I had a lap in Jan and found endo and adenomyosis, I've just been bleeding like mad with labor-pain cramps to go along with. Has anyone ever bled this long? Will they be able to tell why after the tvh is done? Sure wish I had stock at Kotex!!

Bleeding for one month straight!!!

I bet the pathology report will show adenomyosis (that's really the only way to get a definitive diagnosis) and that will explain the bleeding.

Won't you be glad when this is all over?

Bleeding for one month straight!!!

Uh huh, the period that sent me back to my GYN lasted 46 days! That was constant flooding and enormous clots. I am sooooooo glad that is waaaay in the past!

And you're right I should have bought stock in the company, I was spending enough.

Best wishes!

Hi

I totally skipped a period for a whole month, and thought, "Wow, this is great!" What an naive idiot I was!! Aunt Flo was just gathering steam for an all-out attack!!! I started my period the first of January last year and went until the middle March.

It finally stopped, but started back two weeks later, and lasted two weeks, then kept this cycle up until I had surgery on May 23. And we're talking HEAVY!! I was using up a box of 30 tampons a day. I became so anemic that I ended up in the hospital on Good Friday from complications. (They thought I was having a heart attack.) I was so weak that I'd drag around like snails carrying lumber uphill through mud.

My problems stemmed from two fibroids and an enlarged uterus. My doctor gave me Provera, which did absolutely nothing. So I had a TAH in May, and can honestly say that it was the best thing I could have ever done for myself.

Just hang in there. Soon you'll be on the "better" side looking back.

Best wishes and s,

Lisa

Bleeding for one month straight!!!

I sympathize with everyone....I bled for 5months about 3 years ago....once I got health insurance I went to a doctor...my blood count was "3". They admitted me right away for a blood infusion.....they couldn't believe I hadn't gone into cardiac arrest...my problems actually started when I was about 19 or 20...I am 27 now...I go for my pre-op tomorrow and have my TAH on the 24th. I wrote to Kimberly Clark once and told them how I went thru 15-20 overnight pads EACH DAY and they sent me coupons for free packages!! Anyway....I am so looking forward to this....no bleeding...no pain that's so bad you pull your hair....man oh man....I am so blessed to have a doctor that FINALLY LISTENED!! No one would give me a hysterectomy cuz I have no kids.....I finally convienced this man that if I want kids down the road I will adopt...but for now I NEED a better quality of life...and I have my dog and cat to that run me just as ragged as a "child" would!!! Anyway....sorry I started rambling...can't wait to see you on the other side!!!

Princess in training,

Bleeding for one month straight!!!

I bled from mid-October right up until my surgery which was 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I was very anemic and had to postpone my first date in January until my blood went up (it was as low as 4.5) I am having a great recovery - I'm sore but otherwise feel great. Guess I suffered so much leading up to surgery that I was able to breeze through. Obviously, still taking it easy though! Good luck to you.
