I had my pre-op this morning

Hi Ladies -
Well I had my pre-op this morning. Everything went well. Took maybe an hour with the waiting. I have to go back on Sunday morning to have them take more blood for typing and screening. It has to be done within 3 days of the surgery. I also called my Gyno dr and asked a few last minute questions like.... when should ibuprophen be stopped... she said NOW. If I wanted to have a glass of wine a few days beforehand and she said to stop alcohol 3 days before the surgery. And one other question I asked was when is the last day I can have sex??? This one surprised me... she said I could actually have sex the morning of my surgery! Interesting huh?
I had to sign a consent for the surgery and this is what I gave them permission for ( kinda long and scary )
Total Abdominal Hysterectomy ( we are keeping the cervix unless she finds problems ) , possible BSO, possible bowel resection ( whats that ... anyone know? ) and possible appendectomy. I will be also having a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. Fun stuff.... NOT! I will be put through the wringer huh??

P.S... I have been nervous since yesterday!
I am doing my house cleaning in fazes and worked for hours yesterday starting to get stuff in order.

Unless I'm mistaken a bowel resection, would be removal of part of the bowel that is damaged. But I think they Rejoin the ends. Don't quote me , but call your Dr. to ask exactly what was that I consented to!!

A bowel resection is when the bowel is reconnected after removing a diseased section.
