pain urinating

I had my surgery on the 29th Jan and had among other things a vaginal hysterectomy, my labia is really sore and makes urinating painful. I got hubby to get me some nappy rash cream but it's not really helpful, the nursing staff gave me some urine alkalizer but nothing really helps. Can anyone please help me��

They make a perineal numbing cream that comes in a spray, foam or cream. Call the docs office and ask if they can prescribe it until the soreness subsides. They had me use it after a small tear twice, it is wonderful!

I know it doesn't sound wonderful, but using ice on your sore labia may provide some relief. Some women use a bag of frozen peas, others get creative and wet an old pad and freeze it and apply it to provide relief. I hope it starts feeling better soon.

Hello recca, i think in Oz, the numbing spray is branded as Xylocaine. However in the meantime, Elsie 1122 is spot on, frozen peas wrapped in a towel and applied to that area can be bliss. Hope you soon get some relief.
