4 Weeks Post - Vaginal Area Still Irritated and Itchy

Four weeks post op yesterday. Still have vaginal irritation, discharge (which I know is normal) and very itchy. Went to my original doctor who was supposed to do the surgery in January for some 2nd opinion urology answers (she's a urogyno) and she did a check and said it looks like I have some redness that could be yeast. All the swabs my GYN and Urologist did came back negative, but she said that yeast on the outside won't show up on a swab test! WHAT?!!!!!! I have Diflucan but that stuff just rips up my stomach and irritates my IBS. Not sure what else I can take for it. Can't put anything in vaginally for a few more weeks.

My girlfriend said after her hysto she would get a lot of yeast infections and they gave her this cream to use for a week and never has one since. It's been a year since her surgery. She can't remember the cream and her doctor retired!

Re: 4 Weeks Post - Vaginal Area Still Irritated and Itchy

I started taking Culturelle about two weeks ago and had to stop. It gave me diarreha. I'm going to my Gastro next week to sort all this crap out. I dnn't like taking medication to begin with, and now I'm on Estriadol (1mg), Cymbalta and Klonopin (when needed). I too want to feel normal again. I'm only four weeks out and I see all the posts of how long it takes to get balanced out......UGH!
