2 weeks post op and feeling crampy

I am two weeks post op from TAH and BSO (left in one ovary).
Today I actually would have been due from my period! I know everything but the one ovary is gone but I have had mild cramps like if my period is coming. Each time I use the bathroom I swear I am going to see my period. Has anyone else experienced these strange kind of cramps.

Hi pb120. It sounds like you're having PMS. I've experienced the same thing--bloating and enlarged/ tender breasts--3 times since my hysterectomy 6 weeks ago. There's no bleeding or even spotting, thankfully.

Before my surgery, my doctor explained that the ovaries will continue to produce hormones, including those hormones that signal a period. Even a single working ovary will do so. Without a uterus, there will be no bleeding, but if your cervix remains, there is a small chance you could have a very light, monthly "mini period."

My first round of PMS was worse than the one I'm experiencing now, so I'm hoping that as I heal and my hormones regulate, my symptoms will continue to diminish. Good luck!

Yup just went hey same thing . I'm 3 weeks post op . TAH- kept ovaries and it was period time . Dang it lol
