Question about "G" SPOT and surgery

I have a question.... I'm having vaginal hyster November 10th... I've heard that after a hysterectomy, you can loose your "g" spot. Has anyone experienced this?

I was under the impression that the "G" spot was pressure applied to a certain area in the vagina. I don't think it has much to do with the cervix. If anyone has this answer please enlighten us. Now I'm curious!

I had to weigh in on this. My surgery is completely laparoscopic, so it shouldn't affect the G-spot. I don't know whether a vag. hyst can cause a problem there, but I would urge you to talk to your doc. about it. Many women don't experience G-spot O's, so I don't think the docs are cautious about avoiding that area. If you say that you DO experience this and are concerned, maybe your doc. can take extra care to avoid that sensitive area...?

I agree, you need to talk with your DR about this, and it can depend on what type of surgery you're having. I had a TVH with A&P repairs, and the anterior repair incision ran right up through the G spot, destroying it. However, in time (over about the first year), it 'grew' back (small nerves can regenerate).

I had my LAVH 9-23-03 (Uterus & cervix) and I can tell you so far I 've had no problems there. I also had a BSO 9-21-04 and I've had no problems. The one thing I can tell you is for the first time in my life I have sex with NO pain !! Good luck.
