4 days post op

My surgery was 2 hours long. I had to get a blood transfusion and had cysts removed off ab ovary. He said my uterus was the size of an apple and was easy to get out. I came home
The following day and been sleeping and resting since. I have had one rough bowel movement and cant stand hiccups. I have 3 small incisions which itch already. Im hoping tomorrow I can move to the couch so I can atleast be sociabke w my family.

Re: 4 days post op

Don't feel bad about not being sociable. It will come. Right now you just need to listen to your body and rest. You have been through quite an ordeal, you had an organ removed (even if it was the size of an apple). Keep resting and healing, getting up to walk every now and again to keep the blood moving. Just do what your body tells you to do. It's only day 4. You'll start feeling better in the next few days.

Re: 4 days post op

Heat worked better for my back pain, but ice was better for the incision. You will have to experiment a little to see what works best for you. My bellybutton incision was definitely the most difficult to heal. It took longer than the other two and was sore for a while. Just try to keep if from getting it irritated by elastic on panties or pants. If your doctor says it's ok, perhaps a bandaid will help keep it protected.
