Throwing up and Renewed Pelvic Pain?

I was wondering if anyone has experienced a "renewal" of pelvic pain along with throwing up at 3 weeks post op? I had a LAVH on 1/4/07 (they left my ovaries intact) and things have been going very well- no pain after the first 3 days, very little discharge, etc. Last week, I started feeling kinda achy, but I figured it was just me overdoing it. Last night, I felt really wiped out and I have been nauseous and/or throwing up ever since. I don't have a fever, but I started getting some pretty good pelvic pain again. (Almost like the 1st day after the surgery). Has this ever happened to anyone? Thank you!

Call your doc - he can script you something for the vomiting/nausea.

Yes, you are using the muscles that they played with to barf - so it will hurt. You do not want to do damage so call your doc for something, please.

Throwing up and Renewed Pelvic Pain?

I agree with Sandy please call you doctor. I had the dry heaves in the hospital the day I was to go home. It was worse than any pain that I experienced from the surgery. The nurse (bless her heart she was great) called my dr, he had them give me a shot for it, I went to sleep for a couple of hours, when I woke up I felt so much better I could not wait to get out of there to go home.

Throwing up and Renewed Pelvic Pain?

Hi jennie14,

I am so sorry you're dealing with so much right now! I'd like to encourage you to call the doctor-on-call today. Our bodies give us clues when things aren't going as well as they could be, and in my experience renewed pain coupled with vomiting might be one of those clues. It's almost always best to let your doctor know about these things as soon as possible.

The nice thing is that a quick call to the doctor can help you determine if there is a treatment that can be started right away to help you heal, or to let you know if it's something the doctor just wants to watch. I hate to see you vomiting and putting all that pressure on your body if there is something your doctor can do to help relieve that.

I do hope you feel better soon. Will you please let us know what your doctor says? In the meantime, we're here for you!

Throwing up and Renewed Pelvic Pain?

I threw up every day for the first week and at least once a week since my TAH BSO on 1/3. I called my doctor on Monday and he said that the thowing up could go on for up to four weeks. Call the doctor and get something from him that doesn't interact with whatever else you are on.

Throwing up and Renewed Pelvic Pain?

Thank you all for your replies. I think that I will call the on-call doc to see what he wants me to do. This is really the first time since my LAVH that I've had the vomiting, and the pelvic pain in settling in one spot on my right side and it is really painful right now. I guess this is a small price to pay for the eventual freedom from the pain and bleeding I was having pre-op! I guess I just have to keep the goal in sight! Thanks again, sisters, for your replies. It really helps to hear your thoughts and experiences!
