recovery not off to a good start
UGHH. I want to slap my husband! I had a TAH on 12/3. came home 1. I have two very entergetic toddlers, it was explained to my husband i would need help the first week and lots of it. well he told my mom he took the week off. he didnt do so. he went back to work today. he works 6am untill 11pm. he did try to make the house clean and have everything easy acess, but he just created more mess. my lovey daughter who will be two in a few weeks decided to color her walls. because daddy let her have crayons. she is known for not coloring on paper so crayons are a no no for her. so i spent my morning scrubbing crayon off the wall. i had to do it cause we rent this place and my hysterectomy isnt the landlords issue. she also colored all over her plastic castle bed. I have no idea how to get crayon out of that, but the crayon on the bed will stay until someone else can take care of it. he didnt make dinner like he said he would. it hurts to stand it hurts to walk. i cant pick up either kid and i cant relax when my house looks the way it is. mom is working as she was told her help wasnt needed by my husband. so im stuck there is nobody else to call. i feel so naussated and just am angry. i cant take anything for the pasin, as it makes me very tired and being very tired with a 2 year old and 3 year old isnt good

Re: recovery not off to a good start
I am so sorry for your troubles! Call your mom! I'm a mom of adults and I will drop just about anything when they are sick. Her employer will understand! You really need her there. Obviously your hubby didn't understand - so if you call mom then you will know what her availability is. Do you belong to a church? My church friends came out of the woodwork to help me - they made dinner for 10 days and even came and cleaned the house. Where I live church friends are there in good and bad times - we are happy to celebrate a birthday or watch each other's kids if someone is having a tough time. If you can call your pastor, then he can get the ball rolling. Do not pick up your kids! I did this with a 2 year old and seriously set back my recovery!!
If neither of these are solutions, then sit your hubby down and tell him he has to stay home. You cannot do this on your own!!
Please reach out!

Re: recovery not off to a good start
Sorry you are in such distress> If I were you I would at least call MOM & let her know what is up!!! If she can , sure she would try being there for you. You have to take care of yourself during this time. Don't think your family or you would be happy if you had to go back in the hospital & that is exactly what it sounds like your heading for. Write & VENT anytime. Good luck, Cheryl

Re: recovery not off to a good start
Oh, I agree w/ Cheryl, 110%. So sorry he didn't do all the things he sd he was going to do. Did you ask him about it, what was his excuse for NOT taking off. You really must take the time to heal and not over doing it. There is NO way you can get either of that w/ a 2-3 yr olds...NO way! Is your mom able to take off is she needs to? I am sure she would be more than happy to assist. Wow, your hub works some loooong hours. I so hope you find someone or someway to get the help and the rest you need. Is there any where you can take your kids during most of the day, at least for a bit? I feel for you.

Re: recovery not off to a good start
I would call your Mom & let her know what is going on. You Need help with 2 young kids. You really need to be sitting on the couch, not scrubbing walls. I am afraid you are going to cause scar tissue or adhesions if you over do it. You only have one chance to heal correctly so I would try & get some help. I am sorry he didn't do what he said he would do because I don't want you to hurt your recovery. Please take it easy.

Re: recovery not off to a good start
I had a TVH on Dec 4th and the doctor said early recovery will dictate how long it tales to recover overall. If you overdo it now, you can prolong your recovery. I do hope you can get some help from your mom. Sending hugs and prayers your way.

Re: recovery not off to a good start
I also hope you get help from your mom my worry would be possibly adhesions developing from you trying to do too much. This recovery requires that you take it easy, I really needed help for the first two weeks, and your body is healing which means you need rest, less stress, and good meals to help you heal. My prayers are with you I hope someone realizes how much you are going thru and gives you a hand.
