8 weeks post hysterectomy: Intimacy pain after first time

Is there supposed to be this much burning and pain after intercourse? Today was my first time in 8 weeks, and it while it was a little sore during...afterwards really hurts. He wasn't rough our anything, just wondering if this is normal?

It's possible the burning afterwards is from a bit of a yeast infection? It would be a common thing to have if you had antibiotics after surgery.

I didn't have any antibiotics after surgery, so I don't think it's a yeast infection.

I had the same thing after the first time. It lasted about a day and a half. Each time has gotten a little better, but I still have some burning and swelling afterwards and I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow. But make sure you use plenty of lubricant.

Okay, thank you. Glad to know I'm not the only one. And, sorry if it's TMI, but vaginal dryness isn't a problem, in fact, it's kind of the opposite...too much of my own. I won't knock it though, I'll just consider myself lucky. My better half said he felt something scratch him inside? Is it possible there's still stitches inside scratching him?

It's possible. We can still feel stitches inside at almost 12 weeks. I have had some spotting after sex too a couple of times, so don't panic if that happens.

Whew! Saw a little pink today after I went to the bathroom too, but thought maybe that was to be expected. We are taking it slow and easy. Sometimes I think I expect too much of myself at 8 weeks out. I'm also having some urine leakage, especially when laughing too hard, but figured this too maybe normal from everything still swelling inside. If it keeps up though, I'm going to have a nice chat with my doctor. Thanks for help, it's very much appreciated.

Yes, it is absolutely possible you still have stitches in place that have not dissolved yet. I am 7 weeks post op, & a few days ago, my surgeon confirmed I still have undesolved stitches in place that may take a few more weeks to dissolve.
