Is it normal for drs to not send info?
My doctor was great about sending me pamphlets about abnormal paps and the LEEP proceedure I had done, but when she found cancer and scheduled surgery she didn't bother to send my test results to me. When my first pap smear came back bad about a year ago I had to ask then for the test results to be sent to me. Why isn't it standard to send the results in writing?

Is it normal for drs to not send info?
It seems to depend on the DR. I have some DRs whom I have to ask for copies of everything; then my internist automatically sends me copies of all test results.
In some cases, they don't like to send results if they think it will just lead our imaginations to run away with us; they'd rather have us come in and discuss our test results. I have found that even in those situations, if I request a copy after the DR and I have discussed the results, I'll get it.
Hope this helps!

-Linda

Is it normal for drs to not send info?
Hi, I had my yearly pap a couple of weeks ago and my dr said that he'd call me if he found anything "questionable". Otherwise, I'd get a card in the mail. Yesterday, I got a card that just said that everything was "normal"
I guess that drs all have their own methods and routines. Like Linda said, some just automatically hand me my own copy of all results, others, I have to ask for.
