2 weeks post op
I am 33 years old and I just had a complete hysterectomy. I am married and never got the chance to have any children because of infertility problems. I am 2 weeks post op today and I am in a lot of pain still. I had 2 breast surgeries and my CH in a 4 week period. My body has been through a lot. I still have 65 staples in my belly and my breast is still healing. I thank God that everything came out benign. I am going through a lot right now in my life and on top of all the problems and pain I am on some crazy emotional roller-coaster that I can not seem to get off of. My family has no idea how I feel and I don't want to burden my husband. I try to be strong for him but today I can not stop crying. I just want to heal an feel somewhat normal again. Mother's day is coming up and it is hitting me hard that I will never have any kids. Is there anyone out there that can relate?

Re: 2 weeks post op
Wow, you have been through a lot! Your poor body has been through a lot in the past month, and emotionally I'm sure this is very hard for you. You need to talk to your husband! He may not completely understand, and there really isn't anything that he can do to "fix" it like they want to, but he is your support system. He can hold you, listen to you, be there for you.
You said you had a complete hysterectomy, but you didn't mention if they took your ovaries? That would affect your emotions, but even if they left them, they can go in to shock and cause emotions and menopause symptoms. I kept my ovaries, but keep getting hot and cold spells.
Hang in there, hun, and know that we are all here for you. Best wishes!!

I agree with TaxProNy, you need to talk to your husband. I know for me, if it weren't for my husband, I would still be sitting on the sofa, crying. Let me tell you up til this point my husband never took care of me the way he did when I told him I needed him, he was awesome. I found too that sometimes they just need to be told they are needed. From that point on, he cooked for himself, even went food shopping twice, did the dishes, wonderful!! Sometimes men don't know what to do and they want to help, so just sit down with him and tell him all you are feeling, hopefully he will be there for you. You are going through alot, with all these surgeries, I feel for you. The hysterectomy is enough alone without adding the two breast surgeries too it. I would say to you though to make sure you take it easy, let your body rest for awhile, if you try to do too much you will regret it because your body will let you know. I am terribly sorry that you didn't get the chance to have your own children, just remember to keep the faith!
