Lavh and urinating difficulty

I had my my LAVH on Nov. 20, 2012. Ever since then I am having trouble urinating. I seem to never have the urge to go, I just feel a very full senation. I then go to the bathroom and have to sit there which seems forever to empty my bladder. Then I can go back less than 5 minutes later with the same feeling. I wake up in the morning in so much pain from this terrible full sensation, go to the bathroom and I am better. I know that I am only a week in recovery. Just wondered if this was normal or should I call my dr. Not scheduled for post op visit until Dec. 6th. I sit in pain all day due to this pressure.

Re: Lavh and urinating difficulty

I had my LAVH on Oct 18th and I had the same pressure feeling. It would be excruciating at the beginning stream of peeing, and then halfway through it would let up. But I did have the full pressure feeling for a good 2 weeks after the surgery. Hope this helps and that it goes away soon =)

Re: Lavh and urinating difficulty

Losing the urge to urinate is normal but I am not sure about having pressure all day. I would suggest you call your doctor and let him or her know what is going on. Please keep us posted.

Re: Lavh and urinating difficulty

I experienced the same thing and it took about 3 weeks to settle right down and I'm 5 weeks postop today and I would say it's about 99% better. If you are concerned, absolutely call your dr- everyone is different and they might want to check for an infection.

Re: Lavh and urinating difficulty

I would call your Dr. I have had crazy bladder symptoms since my DVH surgery 7 weeks ago. From spasms, to not being able to void at all, to urgency, lots of pressure which I found out was from not emptying. This can be related to a uti or just your bladder being angry from being moved around. Mine has been the result of both. Please put a call into your Dr so they can evaluate you and try to help so you don't have to suffer.

Please let us know what you figure out.

HUGS Sister, you are not alone.
