I can have a LAP yeah!

Hi sisters! I saw the lap specialist this morning and he said that the story I got from the other dr's about not being able to have anLSH was bogus. Yeh! He said he could do the LSH on me. But he brough up some other concerns. First, a year ago my endometrium lining was 10.3cm. It shouldn't be since I am on BCP. Also, my uterus is tilted way back and he said it feels a little "stuck". In other words, he thinks there might be adhesions back there. And so he thinks there might be some Endo there too. Rats! Now I have something new to look up. He knew I had never been diag with this but he really wants to look in there and be sure. And he wants a biopsy to rule out any cancer or other problem. So now I am waiting on an appt with him to do a D&C, hysterscopy with laproscopy. (sigh) So I need to get all the info I can on those procedures.

I want to thank ALL you sisters for telling me that I could get the lap. YOU WERE RIGHT! Now I am anxiously awaiting this procedure and could use all that great help again.

You guys REALLY helped someone tody.
Thank you so much.

Thank you historylady. It was actually one of your replies that helped to push me to see dr #4 and find out that I could indeed get the LSH. I can't begin to tell you how much you helped me.
Now it's just another wait for the appt for the scope and biopsy.
Thanks again!

Thanks for posting back about your upcoming surgery. Its why we stress getting many surgeon opinions to explore all your options/treatments prior to surgery and then for possible different methods of the hyst.

Many women are simply not a good candidate for LSH for varying reasons. I know of atleast one woman who was told repeatedly that she wasn't a good candidate for a LSH. She hunted and hunted until she found one that would give her a LSH.

Turns out, she had to have an abdominal hysterectomy after all....because of her medical history and other unknown medical issues that were discovered the morning of her lap.

So while we certainly hope for less invasive surgeries, the main thing is getting the best surgery for *you*.

Hugs to you for a healthy future!

Thank you Kathy. You are so right about this site encouraging us sisters to keep looking. The specialist I went to was recommended by a sister here! And as I was leaving the receptionist asked me to show her how to get to this site and navigate it. She thought it was so cool. I told her and the dr that the best part about HS is that we are not trying to play dr. We dont' 2nd guess medical advice. We just share with each other and support each other in asking questions and seeking out the best treatment we can. HE WAS ALL FOR THAT. What a great guy. He understood why I had come to see him.
If it turns out that i have other issues and can't have my procedure the way I was hoping at least I KNOW that I am getting the best care now.

Thank you , thank you , my sisters. I will let you know how I amd doing and when they give me an appointment for my
