Go Lytely not going well- Help!

I have been doing the GoLytely all day and have had a hard time getting to the half gallon mark I was off to a good start but between potty dashes and drinking I am slowing down. I am just shy by 8 oz. I really don't think I can do this without vomiting. My question is - is this good enough? It is working. I just don't know how much more I can tolerate of this. One hint- baby wipes help! Any ideas anyone?
THanks- my big day starts at 5 a.m. tomorrow wish me luck!

Re: Go Lytely not going well- Help!

Not trying to get too personal - but what does your stool look like? When I give GoLytely to patients, sometimes they have a little left, but their BM are becoming kinda watery/clear, I don't force them to stop. Do not make yourself vomit. Slow down and try to finish if you can.

Re: Go Lytely not going well- Help!

Without getting to graphic- well its more watery now and smaller debris, looking clearer. I finally took a sip or two of the go lytely and then a swallow of sprite then back to the go lytely. I then got hard candy, chewed on some gum and back at the go lytely. It took me another 20 minutes but got it down. I certainly lost my stride in the timing of all this so I hope that doesn't mess this up. I did well with the first 36 oz. The last 30 or so oz were slower. I had to rush to the toilette in the midst of all this so it was hard to stay on track. Then the taste became overwhelming. The positive- I kept it down . I continue to make dashes to the bathroom so I know its still working.
I am having a tvh and bladder sling. The surgeons wanted my bowels clear and I see why this is a good thing. I am stressed to because yesterday and having ear pain. I was also running a fever. It broke today. My surgeon wanted me to see my PCP. She told me my fever was still in the o.k range for surgery. She told me to use my netty pot and see if I could get some ear pressure going and that worked. Thanks for listening just pre surgery jitters!!
